JOB SUMMARY 

The Head of School at Waterbrook Schools is responsible for providing visionary leadership, overseeing all academic and administrative operations, and ensuring the school's continued growth and excellence in education. This role involves managing staff, developing curriculum, maintaining high academic standards, and fostering a positive school culture that aligns with Waterbrook Schools' mission and values.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Leadership and Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement the school's strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.

  • Provide visionary leadership to inspire and motivate staff, students, and the school community.

  • Ensure the school's mission, vision, and values are integrated into all aspects of school life.

Academic Excellence

  • Oversee curriculum development and implementation across all grade levels.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs.

  • Stay informed about educational trends and best practices, implementing innovative approaches where appropriate.

Administrative Management

  • Manage the school's budget and financial resources effectively.

  • Oversee all administrative operations, including facilities management and human resources.

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian/ Lagos state educational regulations and accreditation standards.

Staff Development and Management

  • Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality teaching and administrative staff.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment for all staff members.

Student Affairs

  • Maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.

  • Oversee student discipline and welfare policies.

  • Support extracurricular activities and programs that enhance student development.

Community Relations

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for Waterbrooks Schools.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, alumni, and the local community.

  • Develop partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and other educational institutions.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

Academic Performance

  • Improvement in student academic achievements and standardized test scores.

  • Increase in college acceptance rates and scholarships awarded to graduates.

Enrollment and Retention

  • Growth in student enrollment numbers.

  • Improvement in student retention rates.

Financial Management

  • Adherence to budget and financial targets.

  • Success in fundraising and resource development initiatives.

Staff Development

  • Increase in teacher retention rates.

  • Improvement in staff satisfaction and engagement levels.

Community Engagement

  • Growth in parent and community involvement in school activities.

  • Positive feedback from stakeholder surveys (parents, students, staff).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Doctorate in Education or Educational Leadership preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in education, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successful school leadership and administration.
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Valid Nigerian teaching certification.
  • International school leadership certifications (e.g., IB, Cambridge) are advantageous.
